Back in August 2013, I joined MacMate, which was a kind of online file storage service. I joined the entry level which was free. However the service was usually so slow that I did not use it, and just forgot about it.
They have now changed the way it works and MacMate Lite has become MacMate Web Builder . . . and there is a monthly invoice of £2.50 plus VAT. http://macmate.me/index.php I cancelled my account and received a Cancellation Request Confirmation email two days ago. Today I have received an invoice (luckily they did not have my credit card on file). I have now put up a support ticket on their site saying that I have cancelled my account and will not be paying anything. The company appears to be based in New York and also in Bodmin, Cornwall. As I regularly go through Bodmin when on holiday in the West Country, I will be paying them a visit if I have any more problems. This is just a warning to look out for their emails if, like me, you took up the offer of their free service a few years ago.
