Where you based Phil? I know the Laptop Workshop in Haywards Heath are 
usually reliable. Or perhaps somewhere like Game, to ensure warranty etc. 
I've always taken a punt on eBay and been fortunate, some even with some 
warranty.

Else, the Apple Refurb online store? You'll pay a bit more, but peace of 
mind etc for longevity....
