gotcha, thanks Sam. Yet another little Mac thing I've only recently noticed - and there's me thinking I'm an old hand having started with our beloved Mac Classic SE and OS 6.
Speaking of recent discoveries... I've just found BetterTouchTool... well worth a look if you want 'infinte' control over your mouse/trackpad and screen real estate. It's superb!
