I believe I was one of 'Sam's 5' ;) It really is very straightforward Tilly. I'm no electrical engineer, but it's not complicated. Sam advised on the few things I'd need to buy (screwdriver, caddy for HDD and USB to transfer etc, all v cheap) and my goodness, having the SSD is like having a brand new Mac.
I didn't think it was slow before (I did it 4 years ago) but it flies now (albeit, I'm still on Mavericks, but I've heard newer macOS works ok too). Treat yourself for Christmas?!
