FYI, I’ve used a Mac since 1984 and never used any AV software, except once about 6 months back at Sam’s suggestions to check for an issue with our router getting corrupt DNS settings. It found nothing when I ran it but Sam brilliantly sorted it out all the same. 👍 Other than that incident I’ve never had anything dodgy with the OS.
The main protection seems to be to avoid clicking on links in any slightly suspicious emails. Like Sam, I also run macOS as an ‘ordinary’ user with no admin rights so nothing gets past without me being asked.
