Some guidance appreciated please. I traded in my 2011 MacBook Air today for a used 2017 one. The 2017 MBA was only on 10.12.6. My previous one was fully updated to 10.13.6. I am currently installing High Sierra on the ‘new’ one. It has a temporary Admin name ‘Mac’ and a basic password. I have both a Time Machine copy of the old MBA and a Superduper bootable copy of the SSD..
Question; If I restore the previous MBA Time Machine info directly on the ‘new’ one after it is fully updated to 1013.6, will it be accepted by the temporary admin? Or will it accept my information and place me as a user? Or should I try and install my name as admin and my password? Or; If I restore from the bootable Superduper copy would that work better and overlay everything that’s already on it? Any pointers gratefully received.
