I’d infer from the changes that new iPads will have the iPhone X series 'notch' with a larger screen in the same size case, Face ID and no Home button. A bit confusing unless you already have an iPhone X series phone.
iOS 12 seems really good as both our iPads seem slicker than before. iPad Pro 12.9 is my desktop workhorse but need a new Mac mini as the house server.
