it was true then...!

and they are trying to set things up so they don't cut anything off people are using (good) but don't have to maintain forwarding forever (good). It's quite an elegant and patient deprecation. The only alternative is to shut down mac.com addresses or something, and screw things up for people who set addresses up year ago and need help doing it all again (I speak from experience of several family members in that category)...
