Hi folks

Two overlapping questions. My impression is that for the most part Mac users don't particularly need to worry about viruses (though they can pass them on), do need to be aware of malware, phishing and other neologisms. Is this still about right?

Secondly, more technically, UCL (where I work) requires us to run anti-virus software to access their systems remotely and are about to shelve Sophos. It seems that F-secure is still available but I can't 100% ascertain which service we are being offered.

If anyone who understands these things has a minute to glance at this page: https://www.ucl.ac.uk/isd/sophos-anti-virus-licensing-changes?utm_source=UCL%20%28Internal%20Communications%29&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=10377256_The%20Week%40UCL%3A%20Issue%20380%20–%2014%20March%202019&utm_content=Sophos%20Anti-Virus%20no%20longer%20available%20for%20personal%20machines

I'd be grateful to hear if anything leaps out. I stress it's not an option *not* to run something if we want remote access, however redundant we might think it is;)

Short version: is anyone going to notice any difference if they uninstall Sophos and install F-secure instead?

Thanks for any tips
Cheers
Jason
