Is there plenty of free space on there Virginia? If your Mac starts running low 
on storage space then everything will being to slow down. You may find this

FYI: I have a MacBook Pro 2015 model on 10.15.5 and it’s behaving fine so, it’s 
not age! It could be a hardware issue, but it’s always worth checking the 
simplest and cheapest things first!
