Another thought. If you can log in as an admin user, you can use system 
Preferences to reset the password for each of the other users, just reset them 
to what they were before, then you should be able to log in

Unfortunately I got it done in Worthing and we are now back in Rugby. I have 
the old hard drive though. Would a re-cloning need to open up the laptop again
