Can you send a screenshot of the error?

Push Cmd+Shift+4 > press the space bar and the mouse icon turns into a camera >
click the keychain window (or any window) and it’ll save a screenshot of just
that window to the desktop

Hi Sam, and thanks, it just says you do not have permission. Also it sends a
fault message to Apple. I wish as you say, it would ask for a password but
it doesn’t. I have signed out of my old MacBook 12”. It still does not want
to launch. This has certainly foxed me for sure!

Best Wishes, Peter
