Help! For ages I put off updating my OS from Mojave to Catalina on a 2014 iMac. However, for some unknown reason I decided to update to Catalina over the weekend not realising that I would lose support for Aperture, Logic Pro, and my Final Cut 7.0 suite. Now the latter two are not major losses - although the idea of having to pay £598 altogether to replace both does leave a sour taste in the mouth - but I have a large image archive stored in my Aperture library all nicely organised and such. I did not make any changes to the library as was before I updated my OS. I have looked at a few of the options available for accessing the library and am minded to go down the native Photos software route. Can anyone tell me whether I can just ‘point’ the Photos app at the old Aperture library, which is stored on a Drobo drive, and immediately work with it as I would have done using Aperture or do I have to amalgamate the old Aperture library into some new Photos library thereby effectively duplicating the data? Any advice much appreciated.
