Just thought I'd share this tip that I accidentally discovered! I found it a nuisance that changing volume/brightness required more steps than physical buttons, BUT if you simply hold said 'button' on the TouchBar down, you can then just slide one way or t'other before you let go. The animation on the bar doesn't appear in the right place, but it does the job nicely with the single press once more!
