Hi Sam. I suddenly remembered that I had an SD card reader (USB) and card so I was able to get the photo for the funeral from the macbook onto the SD card and then onto the ancient iMac, which DOES connect to the internet. And emailed it to the iPad. So the immediate problem is solved.
But I do want to transfer all of the pictures to the iPad ultimately and I think the SD card might be a bit laborious. Though I will try. Many thanks for your help! It certainly jogged my aged brain into activity!
