Ok I see. If it says it will take
PC133 then it should work. *Sometimes* a PC133 will not run in a PC100
bus. It's a hit and miss proposition. More likely though, since you
clarified you have a single stick is:
a) compatibility problem. It happens,
even if the specs are correct some motherboards simply don't play nice
with some memory.
b) bad stick. It happens with
regularity, particularly with generic brands.
c) bad setting in the BIOS, you may have to
physically change the setting to PC133. Most Compaqs can access the bios
by pushing F10 as it boots up, some of the desktops make you press delete while
booting up.

would read in both 100 and 133 speed computers.
If it was the wrong kind would it even read up to
the 128 mb that it does ?
