Being Next To Fat Person Can Hurt Image
A University of Liverpool study finds people are so "fat phobic" that even standing next to a fat person can hurt a person's image. "It shows that people project negative attitudes associated with obesity not only on the obese but all those who associate with them," says Jason Halford, a psychologist. Students were asked to describe a man photographed next to a svelte women and also next to a large woman. The man with the large woman was rated 22 percent more negatively, reports the Web site Scotsman.com.
