Where it comes across your tv
screen? lol
I thought it was neat when Domino's
in La hooked up to the computers at the front counter. Everytime someone called
their name and number flashed on the computer screen. lol

I
think the caller id that is in the newer sat receivers now is cool.
Oh yeah, there are tons of
differences between the last satellite we had and the very first one we had.
They had upgraded alot of stuff.....
Also it depends on the package
you choose, you can get better packages with better equipment. Just like
with tv's, you can buy the el cheapy.....or you can get the streamlined
version.

Small dish satellite (DirecTV, Dish)
is new technology and still evolving. I have a 4th generation
receiver. My brother had a first generation receiver. His
quality and features sucked. My other TV's have older 2nd gen boxes,
and they have less features as well.
Seriously though, considering the
initial outlay, the proof that consumers prefer it to cable is the rapid
growth of the satellite industry. I get mail from bright house at
least once a week telling me how bad satellite is. If Satellite
wasn't a threat to them, they wouldn't be putting out that kind of
advertisement. If the satellite service is so inferior to cable,
then why is it even a threat?
Charles
Mims
really?
My sister must have
shitty satellite..LOL
She has to call in
everytime they want to order a PPV movie.

No we don't. I can order pay
per view over the phone, by internet, or from the screen with the
remote.

I am counting
channels. We have hundreds....
Oh and I just press a
button to order PPV and VOD. You all have to drag yourselves over to the
phone and then call the company to order it.
:D

Are you counting channels,
or the way they number them? Because while they have them numbered
thru 900 sometimes, there sure aren't that many
channels.

We were
paying $100 for 140 channels. And if her picture is bad, it's in
her cable or her tv or it's not tuned in good b/c if she has
direct tv then she is receiving the same picture that e'one else
in the US is getting. It all comes from the same satellites. Not
to mention the prices are all basically the same. I'm getting over
300 channels right now for $80 and I just like it better. No use
arguing over it. E'one has their preference. Mine is to stay away
from Comcast if I can b/c in this area they suck ass. There are
more satellite customers around here than cable
customers.
we get over 700 for 65
dollers and ours is digital
