Your gonna make me figure out where I read that article and go dig it up, aren't you? lol :P

I know there was alot of speculation in the article as to why the numbers of women entering the ministry were so much lower than in years gone by. I think there was some speculation ( in the article at least ) that it was a reflection of society in general and a backlash from the women's lib movement. And women in the Church not wanting to be identified with that....

About all I can remember off the top of my head. lol I *think* that's what they were speculating anyway, if I'm remembering right. lol

Actually I was reading some interesting statistics the other day, about Pentecostal women preachers. In the early days of the Pentecostal movement there were tons of lady preachers, now it isn't as common. Their still ordained, you still have them but at least within the UPC they don't comprise as great a percentage of the ministry as they once did. Anymore you rarely see one, and if you do as the article I read noted the median age is 65-80. Seeming to say not very  many Pentecostal young ladies are entering the ministry as they did in years gone by, for whatever reason.  At least in the UPC.....

any idea why theres been a drop?
