Pound of Kisses
I had the best idea for my children for a Valentine's Day surprise. I bought a pound of Hershey's Kisses for each of the five, with the plan to sprinkle them in their beds while they were sleeping, so that they would wake up "smothered with kisses". Whatever possessed me to pour them into their beds the night before, I cannot say. The result, however, were children who awoke at three AM.
My four-year-old came into our bedroom and announced, "Mommy, there are bugs in my bed."
"Oh, no, honey, those are kisses. Hershey's kisses. Because I love you. Happy Valentine's Day."
"Mommy, my bed is sticky."
Uh-oh. I got up, to find that the kisses had melted...all sixteen ounces, all over the sheets, and in polka dots, all over the boys.
These are the lessons I learned:
A pound of chocolate in bed smells just like Hershey USA.
Children don't appreciate three AM showers as Valentine's Day gifts.
Lestoil will remove a pound of chocolate from bedsheets.
M & M's are a safer Valentine!
