Union: Carols Are Psycho-Terrorism
An Austrian union that represents department store workers thinks the repetitive playing of Christmas carols is a form of "psycho-terrorism." Gotfried Rieser, of the Union of Private Employees, is asking stores to restrict carol playing for only a few hours a day and only in departments that sell Christmas presents, reports Britain's Sky News. "Many staff in the retail sector suffer psychologically from it," says Rieser. "They get aggressions and aversions against Christmas music." Stores employers' spokesman Franz Penz says CD players allow stores to play a large number of songs. "It practically doesn't happen that the same Christmas tune is played over and over again," he says.
