I'm exploring that possibility - though there is nothing in the logs. I've seen some instability on the Sprint T1 though it seems stable now.

Sprint made an announcement that they were going to change their routing and that seems to coincide with these new events. Perhaps instability on that part of the network is causing some ftp/wget downloads to become corrupted - though that's not supposed to happen.

I've bounced the server just in case something was hung up there that I couldn't see - although some folks are not having trouble so there is nothing conclusive at this time.
