Have you considered isolating this by type of mail server? We run MDaemon and no error_bad_matrix in our log files over the past week. We use wget on Win2000 server over a Verizon network.

Thanks for that. I'm sure we're on to something now. Sprint tested the circuit and detected an increasing number of errors. Now it's just a matter of finding out where they are and fixing that piece of work. I'm off to the shop for that right after this rule-base update.
