Hi Scott,

I think I traced down the problem to some kind of issue that I'm having with
my Java installation. Since this is no longer a Soap issue, I'll look for an
answer somewhere else (I actually haven't had the time to sit down and try
to figure it out), but I already installed Soap on a different machine and
its working wonders, only on this machine things are weird with Java. In the
case you are curious, I have included the error I get whenever Java tries to
open a TCP socket (I have already tried completly reinstalling Java, taking
out classpaths and everything without any results). I got this when trying
to run the TCP Tunnel app that comes with apache-soap. Thank you for all the
help Scott (Y)

For the clean install, you have

1. Installed Tomcat by unzipping a distribution

2. Copied soap.war to $CATALINA_HOME/webapps

3. Started Tomcat by running $CATALINA_HOME/bin/startup

right? At that point, you can run Tomcat JSP samples and go to Apache
SOAP's root (index.html). When you try to access any of the Apache SOAP
admin JSPs, you get an error as shown below. Again, is this correct?

You will notice that no Apache SOAP classes appear in the stack trace.
That's why I wondered if you could run other JSPs. What versions of Tomcat
and the JDK do you have? Have you made sure that $JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/ext
and/or $JAVA_HOME/lib/ext are empty or contain only jars you know must be
there?
