I've recently decided to use all metal gear in my planes too.
I have even recently switched to metal servo wires and connectors.
The speed that everything works at is dramatic from when I was using
plastic or nylon wire, but my batteries tend to run down now...however
I did notice that my chargers seem to work since the change.
