It's probably over kill but I use metal in EVERYTHING regardless of its place on the plane. When your dealing with an airframe that costs $1200, $1500, $1800+ the difference cost in the servo is miniscule I couldn't agree more! I've recently decided to use all metal gear in my planes too. I have even recently switched to metal servo wires and connectors. The speed that everything works at is dramatic from when I was using plastic or nylon wire, but my batteries tend to run down now...however I did notice that my chargers seem to work since the change.
