Has anyone broken an original EG wing rod? I broke when I kneeled on it but that is the only one I know about.

Cut off the orig hook, mill or grind down the hook base to make it thinner and glue on a 1/8 ply plate for a new hook base and locate the hook at 3.00 behind the wing L/E. Same location as the C/G.
