I flew a HLG contest earlier this month and they tried an interesting twist:
Assigned timers and spotters (yes, two of them) to every flyer for every
round. That helps new dolts like me learn to find and work lift, because
some of the better spotters get assigned to more flyers and I get a chance
to time for some of the better flyers.
I don't have many contests under my belt yet, but this was the first I've
been in to use this system and it benefits everyone.
