Hey now,
Last spring I bought a used hobie hawk (orig) from the guy who
taught me u/c back in the sixties. nothing realy wrong with it, some
cracked paint on the fuse, but the thing is in plenty good shape, although
the covering is a bit brittle. The guy wanted $125 for it, I offered $100
and took it home.
I'd wanted one since I saw one in the hobby shop I worked in as a
kid. Well I've flown the thing a few times and it still looks good, but, I
don't really see what the deal is. My daw 126 2m flys so much better, my
olyII floats better, and I'm not afraid of crashing those.
I had no idea these things were worth so much, now I don't think
I'll fly it at least for a while :-) .
Maybe I should trade it for a modern " full house" ship, or put it up on
ebay and sell it for enough to buy a moldie... just kinda makes one
think...
                        RobII
