Erik,

My Renaud Designs SAPPHIRE came with carbon pins
for the horizontal stab, but then I quickly received an
engineering change notice that said stick with steel
music wire in the stab. My understanding is that it is 
difficult to tell by normal inspection methods if the 
CF pins have been damaged or weakened .

While it's good to save weight in the back, 
it's awful hard to get home without an elevator.
