Mine arrived yesterday. No, I haven't flown it yet. ;-) I contacted Fred and we discussed details. Customizable? What do you want? Fred started in: What type of servos would I use? (DS 368's) OK, I'll cut the mounting holes for them. Sure I can cut them at positions and anglessuitable for RDS. Need extra room on the ailerons for trilerons, no sweat (my ailerons end 9 inches short of the wing tip for a long, gradual tapered trileron). What kind of wing (MH32-125 inch span) -- Not a problem. Two wing rods, one 7075 aluminum the other steel (16 oz-$25 option). The balsa support for the fin is precut to the right angles. Bagged rudder! The push rods tubes are molded into the fuse, easy to do with the fuse in two halves, a PITA when you have to support your own (Why more manufacturers don't do this I'll never know. It's so easy and clean and secure to glue some push rod tubes in when the fuse is sitting open.) All holes in the fuse are drilled: wing rod and wing alignment pin, 2 holes drilled in the fin and even the tow hook hole. I splurged and got the optional wing paint job ($15). See the picture on the web page for what it looks like. If someone bags a better wing than Fred, I haven't seen it. The leading edge of the wing comes painted black to match the CF of the wing bottom. It's a quad-tapered wing. The fuse has lots and lots of kevlar and bits of CF where needed. I like that. Carbon is stiff but kevlar is reasonably stiff and very tough. I need tough. Slip-on nose cone with built-in skeg ala Addiction. I'm sorta glad all manufacture of planes of this ilk aren't as well kitted as the Compulsion. I'd want to buy them all. For folks who've been flying them, any comments on set-up are most welcome. Do mention which airfoil you are using. Cheers, Bill -- It comes in pints! Peregrin Took Bill Johns Pullman, WA RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News.
