Jack and others involved,
I have simple question
about the NATS :) Yeah right. Actually my question is fairly
simple. What are the goals for the NATS set by the
AMA/LSF?
To explain this question
quick comment. Most competitive organizations use their "National
Championships" to create a team or champion that is recognized within the world
(or largest) governing body for that sport. For example, track cycling
something I competed in, used the NATS to compete in the world/Olympic
events in order to create a champion in each of those events. It was rare
though for a normal weekly track competition to include many of these
events, most were "mass" events, not the individual or time consuming UCI
events. Their "goal" of NATS is to present the top US rider in each UCI
recognized event while also including several "local" or US event champions as
well.
What are the AMA/LSF's goals for
NATS? To present an internationally/FAI recognized National
Champion? To have a nationally recognized champion even though it is
not recognized elsewhere? Or is it to simply have a large flying event at
the National AMA facility that all are invited to?
