Hi James, Go to Radio Shack and buy a roll of telephone wire, stranded, and it will fill all your needs. The reason for stranded wire is twofold. It's more flexable and the total surface area of stranded wire is much larger than a single wire. The electrons travel on the surface of the wires, skin effect, and you get better current flow.
