I believe you'll have at least two significant problems.

1. Wingerons/pitcherons need a foil with a wide drag bucket. I doubt the
Hobie foil does. I once had a wingeron with the 7037 foil. It worked if the
plane was flown by a little old lady. But if you tried to have some fun with
moderate or larger control throws; the foil would leave it's drag bucket and
drag would nearly bring to the plane to a stop. OK that's an exaggeration,
but it was quite undesirable.

2. Flex. The polyhedral sections are also big levers which will torsion the
wing. Plus I doubt the wing was ever intended to be that stiff anyway.

It will probably work to some degree and will be a great learning
experience. Making a tight, slop free linkage will be a challenge. But, it
will still be a big thermal bird.
