Your concerns about having the right plane for learning are reasonable. We've all had them.
However, don't loose any sleep over it. *My Opinion" is that; if you're going to be successful, your plane choice isn't critical. But, if you're going to not be successful, no plane can change that. The guys who're successful at learning the hobby are the ones who want it badly enough to not give up. The truth is, it's a complex, many faceted hobby that requires work to learn. Much more to master. Even with the perfect plane, you'd simply progress a bit farther before you gave it up.
