I love this hobby...aviation is my passion. I believe you must determine for yourself whether you are in DLG for the sport or the hobby.
I fly the Avenger 2 DLG from Jancomodels at http://www.jancomodels.com The Avenger is a Sport DLG for the new DLGer. It flies great, launches great, and is comparitively cheap. It doesn't use the AG airfoils, but uses airfoils that were tested against actual built wings, not on some computer. Last year I was flying a Kummero Evo and launching javelin. I am a new DLGer. Some are telling me that I will find out at the Mid-South how the Avenger stands against the Taboos and XP3's. Actually, I think they will find out how they stand against the Avenger. By the way, isn't the TabooXL and XP3 the same plane? I have done my own experiments with my Avenger on launch height and dead air times. Results: Impressive for a sport DLG. The hobby of DLG's is to launch without killing the body and find some lift for fun and satisfaction. The sport of DLG's is to squeek out as many seconds as possible. What do you want to pay for? Maximum fun and satisfaction for your buck or as many seconds for your buck? ===== Mike Kovacs http://home.houston.rr.com/kovacs/ links to Hand-Launch Gliders Houston Hawks RC Soaring Club Janco Models __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
