After reading all the post on Zoom launches I felt very comfortable
(Trouble) in trying to Zoom Launch my new to me 2 meter Image.
First launch Perfect, Great height no problem. Second launch looked
good,I dive down the line quite aggressively and let up on the winch
and pull up and nothing happens!!! I'm stuck on the line, I try again
and nothing.
I fly circles around the turnaround until I get it on the ground too
find that I have wrapped the line around the nose and almost tore it
off.
( just cracked on one side )
Any lesser glider, and I'm sure the nose would have been torn
completely off.
After playing back the launch in my mind, I think I did two things
that probably only apply too 2 meter launches.
1. 2-meter gliders appear farther away then they are. I probably
started my dive way to soon, I was not even close to being over the
turn around
2. 2-meter gliders go up on launch a lot faster that unlimited
gliders, and it is a lot easier to overtake the line if you dive down
it.
Any impute on how else I probably screwed up would be greatly
appreciated.
