Rudder/elevator is fine for slope but a Gentle Lady may be too light for slope, except for quiet days. I would contact the locals and see what they recommend.
In my opinon, it is easier to learn to fly on the slope than it is on the flat. Once you stop crashing, your stick time builds much faster. Jeb. > 1.
