This is a message I posted earlier that may have been lost to many in the long Robert Bingham thread, so I hope you will forgive me for trying to make sure everyone has a chance to hear my side.
Thanks to the many that sent off line support email to me, it was truly appreciated. I use standard business policies which include never bad mouthing another website or anyone else's products as some do. The OLY ll is not a copy of any other sailplane and Robert and others are lucky that Lee Renaud, the designer, is not with us anymore to defend himself against derogatory statements from lesser people. I have been flying RC sailplanes since 1968 and have not lost a bit of my enthusiasm and interest in designing, building, flying and promoting R/C sailplanes. Ray Hayes Gentleman, Needless to say this thread has made my evening fairly bad. I am a one man show with a part time helper and as you know do not have employees all over the country. I think Robert feels he is doing the right thing or Robert is having fun disguising himself. In the ten years that I have been selling my designs and others, I can recall one person who bought a kit (Challenger) from a private individual (they both live in Ohio) and then called to say he could not find some of the sticks or parts, I'm not sure what was named as missing, it was approximately three years ago. The person that bought the kit from the individual is definitely not Robert. Reading back through the man's posts, he seems to have taken on the identity of this individual in Ohio. The individual that ended up owning the kit is likely watching all this crap. Now it could be that Robert is talking about some other kit, but I can tell you that unless the dreaded decease is setting in on me, I have had no one else asking for missing parts from a kit they bought from an individual. If you look back at a post concerning AMA's raising of the CD's dues, you will see that he took a shot at me then too. So I don't know for sure what this is all about, but hope that it comes to a climax soon, so the exchange can be used as it is intended. Ray Hayes SKY BENCH ...
