To those that think that a soaring contest is not attainable, in the Ohio Valley world, that has changed. At many of contest this year tasks of 12 to 15 minutes have become the norm, and these are not flown at the noon balloon. Yesterday at Pumpkin Fly, the longest task of the day was the last at about 4:00 with an overcast sky, it was 15 minutes, and it ravaged many flight groups, including the big boys. Rich Brunowski ragged the big boys, the entire group, to win the contest regaurdless of his landing. It was great and it showed in my book how seeded MOM and long tasks are the way to a great contest. We can thank Tom Kallevang at the Fred Contest for starting this trend and Jerry Shape for carrying it to Ohio.
