A few questions about slopers... I picked up a Fun One fuselage earlier in the season at a HL contest and am building a sloper for the winter. Since I live in Ohio and don't compete in slope events, I'm thinking of tweaking the design a bit to make it fly well in very light lift (translation: very small hills.)
I have made templates for SD6062 wings at 8% thick. I'm considering shrinking the span to around 56" and using a sheet V tail with pitcheron control to keep weight really low. Has anybody done this? I'm concerned about incidence and sizing in the tails and sizing of the pitcherons... Any suggestions? It's going to be a fun ship for lighter days at the small hill we have here... trying RDS out too. Pink foam with a carbon uni dart under 1/16 balsa. Estimated wt around 14 ounces.
