http://www.rrtc.net/avoiding-html/ The short answer to the problem for AOL'ers is the HTML thing is what AOL defaults to "out of the box". In versions between 5.0 and 7.0, you can change this in a dialog box in preferences. In 8.0, it seems you can maybe change each outgoing mail one at a time on a case-by-case basis, but the settings don't save, so you have to re-do it every time you post (bummer!) I don't have the problem myself, I'm still on version 4.0 on my mac;-) The ultimate solution, however, seems to be to update the software that powers the listserver, so that it would just strip the HTML out of incoming posts, or something like that. That would probably cost a little money, but I'd be willing to send a buck or two in somewhere if it would get rid of all the HTML garbage in the digest. I bet a number of other digest readers would, too. Anybody know who manages this list? Could we get a read on the feasibility/expense required? Thanks so much for your thoughtful consideration, and have a Happy New Year! RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News.
