I *completely* agree with this. I think hand launch contests should count towards the Competition Requirements. It's not as if hand launch contests are easier! I'm interested in hearing why they don't count as well. Anyone?

Jack, Not sure who to address my question to.   Seems as though LSF
does not recognize HLG contests for the Competition Requirements.   I
find this strange.   One person explained that it was because the
plane is hand launched � not winched (fact).    If we can
substitute slope duration for thermal duration, that does not make
sense.   I believe it is an oversight since HL was not practiced in
1969.   So my question is, is there a reason why HL contests do not
count?   Regis
