We sure had fun the other day flying. While straightening out the winch line the solenoid(relay) froze. My buddy Dan quickly turned off the main disconnect to save the winch and equipment. We checked it several times and sure enough, it was the relay. This was a fairly new relay from Checker Auto. We replaced it without problems. All you winch owners, now is a good time to practice a frozen relay drill before it really happens to you. Screaming and shouting doesn't help much. Can you disconnect the battery in an emergency???
