Jim, real men fly/practice from short mega bungees, then you really have to work for your times! Except for some winch practice now and then I never fly off of anything else. Has it improved my flying- not ONE BIT! Seriously though, sounds like you guys were having a blast. Many moons ago Bob Dodgson had a plane called the Maestro Caliente. It was said to be bullet proof and one of its claims to fame was the ability to do outside loops- a real BIG deal back then. I was doing them in a thermal just like you were.
