I find Ultracote
to be superior to Monocote in all aspects of
covering. It will not “unshrink” if
applied correctly. That said, it has a wider range of
application characteristics than Monocote. You can
apply and shrink it at low and medium temps, but you really should use high
temp for the seams. The Ultracote instructions give
you a good idea of the different method required to get the best results. I
have a how to on my web page describing in detail how to cover Sheeted surfaces
with Ultracote. When done properly it is nearly indistinguishable
from a molded wing. I have had several planes for over 10 years and they have
yet to wrinkle.. John D. http://www.scalesoaring.net/tips.htm Endless Mountain Models http://www.scalesoaring.com email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -----Original Message----- I wish
others would talk about their techniques of apply the covering around curved
structures, top and bottom, if they've worked out something that works well for
them. The directions that come with the roll leave a lot to be desired. |
