Alden, You guys are really thinking like Kansans. Here in the West that is finals week in school and graduation, it is also the weekend of the Montague XC Challenge here in No. Calif-Southern Oregon.

Loren Blinde of the Lincoln (Neb)Area Soaring Society has notified me that
the LASS club was not interested in continuing the sponsorship of the
Midwest Slope Challange in the Spring of 2005. He suggested a local group
here in Lucas take it over.

After talking with numerous flyers it was unaminous that the event be
continued.

With that in mind, last Saturday a group (7) of local flyers in this part of
Kansas met to discuss the situtation.

The results of the meeting incude the forming of a new club WOW, (Wings over
Wilson) with the main, but not only purpose, to continue the MWSC for year
12 and beyond.

Of course with change comes change. The MWSC Web site will be managed by
Greg Smith of slopeflyer.com fame. Look for
http://www.slopeflyer.com/mwsc/. Although not all changes are official and
posted on the webb site as yet the date change is official and we want
people to know as soon as possible. For 2005 the MWSC will be held from
June 9 through June 12, 2005. We realize some have already requested
vacation, but hope this early announcement will be early enough for people
to change plans. The biggest incentive for this change is to allow families
to attend and not be hampered by school function such as graduation and
other end of school year conflicts.

There will be other changes posted on the web site soon. Check it often for
updates.

I hope you all will continue to support the MWSC with WOW as you did with
LASS. WOW is dedicated to living up to the reputation LASS has for this
event.

I dont have a complete list to notify everyone, so if you can pass this
message on to others you know it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Good Lift
