>Ever tried flying DLG with a Clark-Y or an NACA6412 vs a Drela foil?

Its a trade-off.......the Clark-Y is a moderately performing, stable, vice-free airfoil that'll take a lot of flying abuse. The tighter airfoils will give more lift but they are likely to have a narrower window where that lift's usable.

Its possible that given the likely manufacturing tolerances of a DLG wing that its quite possible that the airfoil you end up flying isn't the same as the one you thought you had (or even had earlier that morning).

>You take the Clark-Y, I'll take the Drela and let's do a mano y mano thing sometime

It might be worth building a DLG with a Clark-Y airfoil; I don't think anyone's done it so I don't think we can say its that much worse than any other foil. (I suspect it will work rather well, especially if there's an expert flying it.)
