Which is what I thought I was saying. Point being that the VAST majority of the rest of us would be very hard pressed to objectively determine those same differences. Which does not make them any less interesting to discuss.

Don't move to SOCAL then. The average contest out here looks like a Who's Who of soaring. The cool thing is that when you regularly have to fly against Perkins, Wurts, Smith, Jolly, Jennings, Vera, Sage, and on and on, it gives you a wonderful excuse for NOT winning. And that's what it's all about for me. Were I flying against a bunch of hacks, I would have no excuse for my poor performance (other than to blame myself and THAT won't happen in this lifetime).
