Hand Launch is the best.........for some, the only way they can get it up is
with a zip start.

I ran a MOM mini hi start hl contest series for three years in Michigan,
almost every Saturday morning during the summer months. This is different
than a zip start option in a HL contest. This was four to five mini hi
starts with Man on Man launching, just like our event we have done in all
three of the Wood Crafters events. The guys love it. Wanna start a MOM hi
start HL circuit next summer, DARTS, LOFT, Columbus, ?????? Count me
in.......

Subject: [RCSE] zip HLG'ing

Just wanted to pass this on, see if anyone had tried this since last
year....

We tried flying handlaunch this last week at the DARTS monthly contest,
discus and zip start for the javelin guys. We have some kinks to work
out, but for an experiment it worked pretty well. Shagging a zip start
in a ten minute window was tough, and I'm definitely feeling it today..
It's been 2 years since I've flown any HLG, and I found I missed it.

If I thought I could go out and do this every couple club contests, I
would do it - any of you?

Also, has anyone else tried this as a club event, do any of you
non-discus fliers see this as some times substitute? Compared to not
flying HLG even? I don't see this as a replacement for DLG any more
than Nostalgia would overtake F3J.

I know this is almost a troll thread, but we've had some positive
responses, and I'm just wondering if the time is right for some kind of
old timer HLG events.

Thanks,
Brent
